Sharing Our Love
of All Things Universal
Universal Unpacked was created by theme park fans, for theme park fans.
We’re one of the only online platforms dedicated to sharing news and updates around Universal’s plans for the UK, covering the story as it unfolds.
From ride announcements to those all-important dining options, we report on everything from the moment it’s announced, no matter how big or small.
Our aim is to make Universal Unpacked a place where fans can keep up to date and share in the excitement of what’s coming to the UK.

Get in touch →Universal Unpacked is run by Em and Laur, two lifelong theme park fans with a shared love of Universal. What began with that shared passion has grown into a place to follow, discuss and celebrate Universal’s journey to the UK.
Hi, I’m Em! I’ve been obsessed with theme parks and rollercoasters ever since I first rode Corkscrew at Alton Towers aged 11. After visiting Orlando for the first time in 2019, I unlocked my passion for Universal and its incredible rides, and now visit as often as I can with my sister Laur. My other interests include reading, cats, Harry Potter, bouldering, and learning to handstand. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to contribute positively to the theme park community through our website!
Hi, I’m Laur! I’ve been a theme park enthusiast since my family days out to Gulliver’s Kingdom when I was little. Growing up, Drayton Manor and Alton Towers were my happy place, and I was lucky enough to work for four years at Alton Towers before leaving to study Journalism and Creative Writing at uni. When I took my first trip to Orlando in 2019, let’s just say my mind was blown by the Disney and Universal parks! When I’m not at my laptop, you’ll often find me trying a new bendy yoga pose, dancing, climbing, or (ideally, but not often enough!) on a plane, heading on my next adventure.
What We Stand For
